Hello!
Ask! Ask! Ask! The world’s most powerful and neglected secret to success and happiness quoted by Percy Ross, self-made multi-millionaire and philanthropist.
My go-to resource for practical and inspiring advice often is Jack Canfield’s THE SUCCESS PRINCIPLES book.
His Principle 17 chapter about ASKING is so incredibly valuable. I upped my game in asking after reading the chapter AND listening to his YouTube audio The Aladdin Factor, which he co-wrote with Mark Victor Hansen regarding the power of asking.
He states this is the most powerful of Success Principles yet it’s still a challenge that holds most people back. Do you need to sharpen your asking habit? I did. What a lift of energy when it changed everything including my confidence!
This means asking for anything. An upgrade in a hotel. A date with someone you’ve been attracted to. For the sale. Help around the house. A pay raise at a job. For more love. More hugs. You name it. We can tend to hold back for fear of looking needy or worse the “rejection.”
Jack has 4 Tips to Asking:
- Ask as if you expect to get it.
- Assume you can.
- Ask someone who can give it to you (qualified decision-maker)
- Be clear & specific.
Asking for the sale in business is usually the most common challenge. He has startling business statistics about selling. A survey done by Notre Dame University reads:
44% of all salespeople quit trying to sell to a prospect after the first call.
24% quit after the second call
14% quit after the third call
12% quit after the fourth call
This means 94% quit by the fourth call. BUT 60% of sales happen after the 4th call! Which means 94% of all salespeople don’t give themselves a chance at 60% of the prospective buyers!
Where do you fall in these stats? Time to up your asking game? It feels so fantastic to raise your standards in this game. Try it!
Speaking of asking…providing you are in the Los Angeles/Orange County regions, I have a few spots left for my April 18th Creative Roundtable at Cross Campus before the early rate ends.
Join my featured guest clients Veronica Puleo of TheMainAttraction and The Replicas Music and Productions, Lee Dyson of Hey Mister DJ Productions and the savvy Brianne Cohen as our fun and educational Sommelier who will be highlighting the evening with a wine-tasting from women winemakers!
I will be moderating a roundtable discussion and coaching about the realities, successes, challenges and more behind the scenes of a creative business.
We all have secrets to share that can make the difference in someone else’s business. I’m here to pull back the curtain and share the truth.
