Two Decades of Singing-Songwriting & Mentoring Intersect to Inspire Personal Growth
One of the cool things about producing a podcast is the variety it brings to my life. By being open to learning something new, it will always help keep things fresh and inspiring.
Following that, I always find it fascinating to learn how creatives best express their true, authentic selves – which is what I refer to as your zone of genius. BTW, that has nothing to do with your IQ. Instead, it’s a space in you where things come most naturally, it brings you the most joy while operating out of your highest creativity resulting in a lucrative income. It’s where to live and work most of the time. It can be a fulfilling way to grow a business.
With my guest today, expressing what comes most naturally to her, what brings her joy while in her highest creativity, is very unique to say the least.
Wendy Colonna, a Louisiana native and Austin-based singer-songwriter, calls herself a Musician. Mojo Maker. Mentor. Her musical career spans two decades with nine albums.
She started as a professional musician in 1997 signed to a small label in Louisiana. Soon enough, she used her musical talent and interest in body-mind-spirit integration while in her early 20s to become a certified yoga instructor which led to creating a yoga DVD (with her music) for musicians on tour.
But it doesn’t stop there.
She was inspired to become a certified career coach to help creatives navigate the perils of the music biz and wanted to use her gifts not just for performance and recording, but for helping others to grow and thrive.
Today, her popular “Mojo Tracks” are unique personalized affirmations set to a resonant musical track – merging the neuroscience behind the power of affirmations with the profound science behind sound healing.
“I’ve always been sparked by how deeply music inspires personal growth,” says Wendy. She has devoted most of her life loving and lifting people up through music and mentoring.
With that, enjoy Wendy’s life story and beautiful advice on how to be in flow state by noticing when hard things are easy.
